On March 1, 2010, James filed an application to the NBA to wear the #6 starting the 2010/2011 season. He started a petition saying that no one should be allowed to wear the #23 in the NBA to honor Michael Jordan. It will be the first time James will not be wearing the #23 since his freshman year in high school, when a senior on his team wore it.
